What is Root Canal Treatment?

Root Canal Treatment is used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or damaged.

A root canal treatment(RCT) can also be done intentionally on teeth that are used as an abutment for a dental bridge, this is done to provide its longterm stability and avoid decay or sensitivity on that particular teeth in the future.

During a root canal procedure, the pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned with saline or sodium hypochlorite

The pulp is replaced with a medicated stick known as the Gutta-percha stick and its sealed using Zinc oxide eugenol-based endodontic cement.

The RCT can be done in a single appointment multiple appointments based on the severity of the decay. If the teeth are damaged and an abscess is a present bellow the root of the teeth there may be multiple appointments to treat the abscess.

After sealing the canals, we will first bulk fill the teeth with a temporary filling.

A permanent filling will be done only when you don't have any further pain after the procedure.

The Root Canal treatment cost in Chennai is very low and combined with painless procedures.

Afterward, the tooth is restored with a dental crown or teeth filling for protection and after that, the teeth will continue to function like any other natural tooth.
